New Posts to Come

It’s been a wild summer. But, yes, I’ve made some awesome polymer clay pieces. Pictures to follow. I learned you can scan your creations on the scanner. I’ve been getting some pretty nice photos. So this weekend will be scanning and posting.

Karen’s Enjoying Pinterest

I have been out again. Doing a lot of pinning on Pinterest. Finally a website that I can store my many ideas that I find on the web. I have created pinboards on different subjects. Subjects that I find interesting to me. Of course one of my favorite boards is Polymer Clay. I have created several PC boards to contain inspiration, and techniques I can use in my art. It is amazing how many PCers out there that pin cool ideas, tutorials etc.

I also completed with my husband the painting and new floor for our den. We laid a fantastic floor that is easily cleaned, and maintained. No more carpet. Swiffer is my new best friend. The pups love the new floor. A cool place to sprawl out on in this hot GA summer weather. We got rid of all the junk. Still plenty of junk left to get rid of though. It was my first pass on the junk, so I will be dejunking again really soon. I have set up my art table in a new spot. It’s in a spot that does not smack you in the face when you come down the stairs. My sweet hubby even bought me new shelves to house my many plastic containers. LOVE IT>Even thought I thought there would be no way to fit all my art supplies. But, it all fit so nicely.

Grandkids are coming for a visit. They love my art table. So, I’ll be using their fresh minds to help me. These children are incredible. Never a bother. I am going to teach my grandaughter how to Zentangle.

Where has Karen Been?

I have not dropped off of my blog. I have been very busy with spring cleaning. Cleaning, and painting closets, hallways, doors. I am really proud of the bathroom redo. New vinyl wood tone floor. New tub, and sink faucets that don’t leak. Pulled the toilet and put in an new wax ring. Should do this every five years. Pulse it makes you clean every part of the floor, and fixture. Boy, what a job. But, I have a clean toilet. Painted the wood panneling, and did a great rag effect on top. I will have to post a picture. I have cleaned my kitchen from top to bottom. Thrown out all the junk in the cabinets. I still have stuff falling out of my cabinets. I am now painting the outside of my house. White. Here in the south, the mold is very bad. So I had to wash the whole thing, and put on primer, then the top coat. I have been up and down the ladder so many times, I can’t count anymore. My goal is to have a nice clean house.

Yet I still have had time to work on my polymer clay. I have made some new pieces, and will try my best to upload pictures. So, keep checking my blog.

Women in Medicine Silent Auction

Women in Medicine Silent Auction is coming up fast. The theme is Mardi Gras. I agreed to donate a piece or two of my polymer clay jewelry. The hat necklace has a Mardi Gras Mask for the hat’s trim. The next necklace has a striped pattern in the Mardi Gras colors. Then pin is for my boss to wear to the event. The last necklace is a harlequin pattern.  Hope these work, and raise money for doctors in rural Georgia.

Ga Peach Pendant Textured

December 4, 2011 at 12:20 am (Polymer Clay Jewelry)

Here is my GA Peach Pendant with a textured background. I like this better. I still think it needs a different color for the background. I haven’t added the bezel, so you will see a break at the top of the pendant, and notice the small peach does not have it’s stem. Opps!! Back to the drawing board. I am very happy with the peaches colors.

I have been invited to donate one of my pieces to the Mercer University School of Medicine auction for the Women in Medicine silent auction in Feb. 2012. Will make another piece using some kind of medical theme? Wish me luck.

New GA Peach Pendant

December 4, 2011 at 12:07 am (Polymer Clay Jewelry)

First GA Peach Pendant

GA Peach Pendant First Try

I have blended my first PC cane to begin my GA Peach Pendant. I am pleased with the peaches, but I will work on a new back ground. The background seems to be too orange for me, and blends too much with the peaches. I also have made a textured background that I like much better than this picture. The smooth background seems lacking to me.
